AZ91D or Another Magnesium Alloy?

AZ91D is an excellent starting point for many casting applications, but it is not the right alloy for every project.

If your priority is balanced casting performance and strength, AZ91D is a common choice.

If higher ductility or impact performance is more important, AM50 or AM60 may be considered.

For wrought sheet, plate or extrusion applications, AZ31B may be more appropriate.

For higher-strength wrought components, AZ61 or ZK60A may be considered.

For demanding high-temperature applications, WE43 may be more suitable.
