Magnesium Alloy Product Datasheet www.aikerly.com sales@aikerly.com
WE43 is a Mg-RE magnesium alloy. The main alloying elements are yttrium and neodymium. It is a high-strength magnesium alloy with good mechanical properties at room temperature and up to 300 °C. WE43 exhibits exceptional high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance. Good biocompatibility and biodegradability, we43 is an excellent engineering solution for reducing the weight of structures and components and biological applications.
WE43 Magnesium Alloy
WE43 is a rare-earth-containing magnesium alloy known for its combination of low density, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and stability at elevated temperatures.
Aikerly supplies WE43 magnesium alloy in selected forms and can evaluate material and processing requirements for custom projects.
Physical Properties
WE43 has a typical density of approximately 1.80–1.83 g/cm³. Its physical properties include relatively low density, useful thermal conductivity, and a coefficient of thermal expansion typical of magnesium alloys.
The specific physical properties may vary depending on alloy condition, product form, processing route, and applicable material specifications.
Mechanical Properties
Typical mechanical properties of WE43 depend on product form, temper, processing condition, and test method.
Representative values may include:
Tensile Strength 290–340 MPa
Yield Strength 150–230 MPa
Elongation 10–15%
Elastic Modulus 44–46 GPa
These values are provided for general engineering reference only. Actual properties should be confirmed according to the applicable specification, product form, condition, and inspection requirements.
Material Processing
WE43 can be supplied or processed in forms such as extruded and forged products, subject to material availability and project requirements.
Common manufacturing processes may include:
Melting and casting
Extrusion
Forging
Heat treatment
Machining
Surface treatment
The appropriate processing route depends on the required product geometry, mechanical properties, dimensional requirements, and production volume.
Heat Treatment
Heat treatment can be used to adjust the microstructure and mechanical properties of WE43.
Different material conditions may provide different combinations of strength, ductility, dimensional stability, and temperature performance.
The applicable heat-treatment condition should be selected according to the required material specification and product requirements.
Corrosion and Temperature Performance
WE43 provides good corrosion resistance and maintains useful mechanical performance over a relatively broad temperature range compared with many conventional magnesium alloys.
Actual performance depends on alloy condition, environment, surface condition, product geometry, and processing history.
For demanding applications, Aikerly can review the required material properties and production conditions on a project-specific basis.
Applications
WE43 may be considered for lightweight engineering components where a combination of low density, mechanical performance, and temperature stability is required.
Potential application areas include:
Lightweight structural components
Automotive components
Industrial equipment
Electronic and equipment housings
Sporting and specialty equipment
Application suitability should be evaluated according to the specific design, operating environment, material requirements, and applicable standards.
