Magnesium and magnesium alloys have a closely packed hexagonal structure. The deformation ability issue has been a constraint on the usage of terminal products. Our company has overcome this international challenge by supplying sheet materials. We employ a continuous casting and rolling process to produce high-strength, tough, and superplastic sheet materials with a thickness ranging from 0.5 to 10 mm and a width of up to 800 mm. Their mechanical properties surpass those of existing magnesium alloy grades available in the market.

Mg alloy grades

Mg alloy grades of magnesium alloy plate include:

AZ31: This magnesium alloy grade contains approximately 3% aluminum and 1% zinc. It is one of the most widely used magnesium alloys due to its good combination of strength, formability, and weldability. AZ31 plates find applications in aerospace, automotive, and general engineering industries.

$7 to $14 per kilogram.

AZ91: AZ91 is another popular magnesium alloy grade, containing approximately 9% aluminum and 1% zinc. It offers higher strength compared to AZ31, making it suitable for applications that require greater load-bearing capacity. AZ91 plates are used in automotive components, electronic devices, and sporting goods.

$8 to $15 per kilogram.

AM50 and AM60: These magnesium alloy grades contain aluminum and manganese, with AM60 having a higher aluminum content than AM50. They offer good strength, castability, and corrosion resistance. AM50 and AM60 plates find applications in automotive parts, such as steering wheels and transmission cases.

The price of AM60 magnesium alloy plates can range from $9 to $16 per kilogram.

ZK60: ZK60 is a magnesium alloy grade that contains approximately 6% zinc and a small amount of zirconium. It exhibits excellent strength and impact resistance, making it suitable for applications in the aerospace industry, as well as sporting goods and electronic devices.

 $10 to $18 per kilogram.

The choice of magnesium alloy plate grade depends on the specific requirements of the application, such as strength, corrosion resistance, and weight considerations. It's important to consult material specifications and guidelines specific to the intended use to determine the most suitable magnesium alloy grade for your needs. Additionally, it's crucial to handle and work with magnesium alloys safely, as they are flammable and require special precautions during processing and machining.

Specifications

The specifications of magnesium alloy plates can vary depending on the specific grade and application requirements. Here are some common specifications to consider:

Plate Thickness: Magnesium alloy plates are available in various thicknesses, ranging from a few millimeters to several centimeters. The specific thickness required will depend on the application and the desired balance between weight and strength.

Plate Dimensions: The dimensions of magnesium alloy plates can vary based on the application and manufacturing capabilities. Standard plate sizes typically range from small dimensions for specific components to larger plates suitable for structural applications.

Surface Finish: The surface finish of magnesium alloy plates can be specified based on the desired appearance and functional requirements. Common finishes include mill finish (as-produced), polished, or coated with protective films to enhance corrosion resistance or facilitate further processing.

Mechanical Properties: The mechanical properties of magnesium alloy plates include tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. These properties can be tailored by alloy composition and heat treatment processes to meet specific application requirements.

Corrosion Resistance: Magnesium alloys exhibit moderate corrosion resistance. However, additional protective coatings or surface treatments can be applied to enhance their resistance to corrosion in specific environments.
