Product Datasheet      www.aikerly.com   sales@aikerly.com

ZK60A is a magnesium-zinc-zirconium series magnesium alloy, and it is also one of the most widely used wrought magnesium alloys. It has high strength, good plasticity and corrosion resistance; it is suitable for extrusion, forging and rolling, and has good machinability; no Stress corrosion cracking tendency, ZK60A magnesium alloy is a heat treatable magnesium alloy, the heat treatment process is simple, and it can manufacture large forgings with complex shapes, but the welding performance is slightly poor. This alloy is generally considered for applications requiring shock and impact resistance and for highly stressed parts.

Forming

ZK60A magnesium alloy can be preheated at 260°C (500°F) to bend radii up to twice the material thickness.

Welding

ZK60A magnesium alloy can be welded by resistance welding.

heat treatment

ZK60A magnesium alloy is heat treated at 499°C (930°F) for 2 hours, then quenched in hot or warm water.

Thermal processing

ZK60A magnesium alloy can be hot worked at 260°C (500°F).

Application field

ZK60A magnesium alloy can be used in different aircraft applications such as brake housings, instrument fuselages, landing gear, wing ribs and spars.
